Kill Fat Me: Getting fit isn't rocket science. But it isn't "easy" either.

Reblogged from killfatme

killfatme:

I was reading a good post by Muffintop-less that inspired me to say a few words on this subject. I am continually amazed at all of the misconceptions, misinformation, and old-fashioned BS advice that keeps floating around regarding how to lose weight, get fit, and be healthy. There is no magic…

BLACK WALL STREET is not a record label started by The Game.
Black Wall Street was the most prosperous black community in America during the 1920’s located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was known as “Little Africa” or “Black Beverly Hills”, a prime example of racial nationalism. To put into perspective of how money flowed in Black Wall Street, a dollar took 365 DAYS to leave the community, now a dollar leaves an African American Community every 15 MINUTES. The community had hundreds of businesses all negro owned and their motto was “To educate every child”.
June 1, 1921 white supremacists bombed BLACK WALL STREET and killed over 3000 people and destroyed over 600 businesses. 21 churches, 21 restaurants, 30 grocery stores, a hospital, bank, post office, and most schools were destroyed. The dead were buried in unmarked graves. It wasn’t till 1997 that Oklahoma decided to pass the “1921 Race Riot Reconciliation Act” which provided decedents of that area a free college education.

gotta love ignorance -___-

The Tulsa Race Riots are really important to learn about and they are all but forgotten and certainly not in any textbooks. The information in this post, however, is not accurate. Read about the actual Tulsa Race Riots from a variety of online sources and educate yourselves and fact check once in a while. And yes, it all started with a white girl alleging that a black man attacked her.

BBVA Compass Stadium will open in May 2012.

BBVA Compass is teaming up with the Houston Dynamo on a new downtown stadium construction project. It will be called BBVA Compass Stadium and will open in May 2012.

BBVA Compass Stadium, with a seating capacity of 22,000, is the newest addition to the professional sports landscape in Houston. This state-of-the-art facility will be home to the Houston Dynamo soccer team and Texas Southern University’s football team. The downtown stadium will also serve as the future host venue for many events, including concerts, festivals, boxing, high school sports and more.

Economically, the City of Houston has also benefitted from the construction process of the stadium. The project itself has brought 1,500 jobs to the city, and 300 people will be permanently employed once the building is operational. Once open, BBVA Compass Stadium will deliver an annual economic impact of approximately $32 million to the City of Houston. The stadium will provide a major boost to the East End of downtown, with new businesses opening and community improvement projects throughout the area.

Earlier this year, BBVA Compass Stadium took its first step toward being an environmentally-sustainable venue after it was registered with the United States Green Building Council for certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) system. The certification would make BBVA Compass Stadium the “greenest” stadium in Houston and the only LEED Certified professional sports venue in Texas.

The Dynamo and BBVA Compass will also implement their “Building a Better Houston” campaign. Through this initiative, both entities will endeavor to make Houston a better city through both economic and community impacts. Details surrounding these projects will be released in the coming weeks.

Generate Energy With Honey

Drink one tablespoon of honey every day, it was not so trivial. But it can help you to generate energy to move all day! Why honey is so important? Find answers here!

Maybe many of you do not know the important benefits of honey. Not only can it help you keep the immune system going, avoiding the flu, reduce flatulence, and much more. The ancient Greek athletes took honey every day to help raise their energy before the game. Because honey contains glucose and fructose that produced glycogen reserves in the liver.

Consume one tablespoon of honey before bed and it can help the brain function more optimally. Fructose in honey is stored as energy reserves in the liver, and ready for use as fuel that can be used by your brain all night. Honey also boosts the immune system and acts as an antibacterial - and it also helps the body in the healing process.

According to Penn State from Pennsylvania State College of Medicine, “A tablespoon of honey beats cold medicines that are sold in the market,” explained Penn.

Honey also keeps the bacteria in the intestines working properly so that your digestion works well. If you are a gastric ulcer patient, you can try medication by eating two teaspoons of honey three times daily. Obviously, these benefits will be felt if you consume a natural honey that is not mixed with synthetic sweeteners.
